My Australia Travel Diaries | Hiring a camper van in Australia with Awesome Campers

Hello, everyone, my name is Katherine and I am a travel blogger. This blog is part of my Australia travel diaries. I decided to take a trip with my two friends Tyler and Caroline and explore Australia by road. We rented a campervan with Awesome Campers for a month and we explored many places including 75-mile beach road and Cairns and cape road, etc. Below mentioned is one of my most favorite incidents of my travel diaries…

It was day 12 and we three have immense love for waterfalls and beaches. We planned our trip in such a way that we would not miss any of them. So we went to Great Ocean Road in Victoria because it has the beautiful view, offers a pretty easy drive and there's so much flexibility for holidaymakers. When we reached there by the coastline, we decided to get off the camper van and enjoy the view for a while.

While we three took off from the van, we were empty-handed, except I had a mobile phone and a torch. In rush, all 3 of us forget to take the key. We enjoyed the sunset and ate few sandwiches and had few light drinks. When we returned back, we remembered we have not taken the key and we are locked out. We tried every trick and we did every effort to open it. Since it was rented camper van we couldn't damage it.

I called Awesome Campers' office and explained them the situation. Within two hours, a guy arrived with a toolkit, a box of pizza and few dry clothes. He also bought some medicines for cough and cold and arranged for a fire to save us from cold. After what we spent like 15 minutes, he opened the door of the camper van and gave us the spare key too. We ate and took some medicines and thanked him for his services as Caroline is very sensitive to changing the atmosphere. She was about to collapse and we were helpless.

Awesome campers not only saved our day but our trip as well. Then on we made the rule to carry the essentials with us, even if we get off the camper just for 2 minutes. This kind of incidence and experiences help us make memories which we still laugh when we three plan for any trip.

How to keep your kids busy while you go Campering?

Going on a road trip is anyways hard task but they should have all kinds of experience in their childhood, so they could follow rituals while they start their own families. It could be an experience for you too as you will get to spend the quality time as well. You will get the time to bond with your kids and know what is going on in their lives because these days, the life of a 5-year-old is complicated too (laughs).

First and the foremost advice is to hire a campervan so that you do not have to pay a hefty amount. Besides rented camper vans will give you perks of spending money on other important things and at any time you are free to choose other means of transportation as well.

So, here are the ways to keep your kids busy while you take a road trip:

1. Pack their favorite toys: Do not forget to pack your kids’ favorite toys because that will keep them busy while you and your partner are busy driving. Children tend to disturb you and disturbing a driver is not a good idea. So, pack their toys and there will always be room in camper vans for extra stuff. Kids belonging to this generation are really interested in playing video games, and they can easily enjoy them continuously for two to three hours, so you can carry gaming console for them.

2. Keep them entertained: While you partner is driving, keep your kids busy. Chat with them, play with them, invent new games and tell them stories. This will increase their knowledge and they will learn to be more sociable.

3. Carry a book for them: One should teach their children to read books from a tender age. You can give them task to finish the book and write the summary. Take out some time from your busy schedule to visit a book store and get some stunning story books for your loved ones. This will polish their language and the kids are cute enough to do that for a chocolate or nuts.

4. Cook interesting food for them: Kids love to have their plate full of different colors. Cook something that has different colors. Since the rental campervans come with all types of important facilities, you can try to make use of them when it comes to bringing that smile on your little ones' faces. For example, whenever you see a beautiful place, you can stop your vehicle over there and prepare something delicious for your kids. In fact, if you want to make their sandwiches even more delicious, you can stop your vehicle in small towns and cities to get important ingredients.

5. Choose a good route: Travelling with kids makes you learn many things. So, choose an interesting route which has waterfalls, beaches, museums, etc. If your route has zoo, nothing better than that. The kids love the zoo and exploring animals. However, take care of them while visiting zoo and do not leave them alone.
